Photography attracted my interest when I was a child and received my first camera as a Christmas present. Of course, the model was quite simple, a child’s toy I would say, and things did not work quite as I imagined. The mysterious street lamp on the background of the purple night sky looked rather dull when the film was processed and the image was finally on paper. Yet, the carpet of all-coloured primroses in the neighbour garden produced a rewarding image.
Thus, encouraged by the success and even more motivated by some hiccups, I started the long and exciting journey of photography. Since then, it has been taking me to the most beautiful and thrilling places. I have been in the middle of bright flower fields, on tops of precipitous mountains, on icy verges above abysses, out in the storm, below the water surface, in the proximity of an erupting volcano and amid breathtaking sunrises.
But the journey went further and beyond. I crossed an unthinkable boundary. Through photography, I started to perceive the invisible layers of our world. While they are probably innumerable, science has opened our eye for a few of them, including the uv and infrared reality. My journey now goes further, hoping that one day I will be able to also show imaginary worlds through the means of artistic photography.
